Small tweaks and a full zipper makes the Arc’teryx Accelero Jacket a welcome improvement over the Accelero Pullover (one of my personal favorites). This lightweight and breathable material sheds water extremely well and breathes like a mesh shirt. Wind resistance is minimal–just enough to keep the chill off, but perfect for a cool morning or a light rainstorm. I love my Accelero Pullover, but the full zip should make this jacket that much better.

I really need something like this as a mid-layer under my touring shell. But I need it to have a higher neck to block wind & blowing snow when I’m wearing a helmet or beanie. Do you know of something that isn’t heavier than the Accelero but that has a sturdier & higher neck?
Yeah, this one does have a low collar, but I use my Accelero pullover touring all the time underneath my shell. Neck does get a bit chilly, but I can make up for it with a turtleneck.
I’ll keep an eye out for alternatives with taller collars.
