Product Descriptions
Backcountry Description: Way back in the '80s when pink spandex was king, people scrambled to find a pair of Oakley Frogskin Sunglasses. And whether you choose to go for the Shaun White sigs or for a polished pro, the Frogskins will block those harmful UV rays as you stroll down the street with a ghetto-blaster on your shoulder.

The House Description: In pop culture, it was a time like no other. Ronald Reagan was in the White House, "The Terminator" was in the box office and Run-D.M.C. was in certified gold. It was also the time when Oakley created one-of-a-kind sunglasses called Frogskins. We resurrected the original tooling from the early '80s to produce new limited editions, giving you a chance to own a piece of history. For each original color combination of this coveted style, limited quantities will be produced. This is an opportunity to own a rare retro classic, and once supplies are gone, the window of opportunity will be closed forever.Key Features of the Oakley Frogskins Sunglasses Pikes: Limited Edition

Classic

This was one of the first Oakley's I had as a kid. Nice selection here. Get them while they last, typically hard to come by.

just tell your buddies it's a first edition

So, technically this iteration of the Frogskin isn't part of a collection of super-exclusive limited editions we've seen in the past, but do you really give a shart? The Frogskin is one of the most copied and sought-after sunnies in the industry thanks to its awesome fit and sick optics. Plus, this re-issue features the Frogskin's most popular limited colorways from the past, at a price that definitely beats the hell out of flogging your wallet on some sketchy ebay auction.

The Acid Tort colorway isn't technically a true tortoise - it's actually just a contrasting print over the frame's bright aci-- Wait, what am I critiquing? This colorway is simply more of what everybody loves about the Frogs. And with color-matched Iridium lenses? Sold. Call it a tort, call it camo, call it whatever you want, the Frogskins still have it. Easily one of my favorite limited Frog drops to come along in a while.

Too much money to justify.

I know people love these glasses and the style, but for a pragmatist, I cannot bring myself to get a pair of these. I ordered a pair and they came and when I got them I was really disappointed in the quality of these glasses. They feel like 10 dollar glasses you get in a gas station. Basically you are paying for the name on the side of the glasses. There are a lot of companies that make the exact same glasses and quality lenses for about 10-30 dollars depending on where you go. I went to ebay and got a pair of imitations for 10 bucks and am happy I saved the $90. You can even put different lenses for the frogskins in them, they fit perfect. Don't get me wrong, they are stylish and would work with many face sizes, but they are just not $100 + sunglasses and in this case supply and demand has got the better of the demand. For this I cannot give them more than a 2 star, because they really overpriced. This picture shows my 10 dollar imitations with polarized lenses. They are made with the same composite material as the frogskins.
