How does this compare to the Asylum Jacket?

Is it just the 2008/9 version?

I don’t know all the differences, but the Asylum is a heavier-weight 3-layer fabric. It weighs in at 7oz. heavier in that department.
It also sports a removable hood (nice feature) and a forearm zippered pocket.
One of the great things about the Asylum is the current price at $198. It’s on sale right now.

Really like this jacket, and great review!
You say you’re wearing a size L. How tall are you?
Would be great to know what size to order…
Thanks!

Hey Jack… I’m 5′11″ and 180 lbs. It fits perfectly.
I’ve used the jacket now for about a month and totally dig it. I like how versatile the Shelter Jacket is since it’s so lightweight. I can easily layer it with a fleece and a PrimaLoft vest for cold days or still use it in the summer as a lightweight/packable shell. Great jacket!
