Altrec Description: When a hardshell is overkill but you still need full leg protection, the Arc'teryx Gamma MX pant is an ideal choice for climbing, spring backcountry ski tours, and extended valley bottom approaches. The Polartec Power Shield lightweight fabric is the key to the performance here. This amazing sofshell fabric covers a number of bases, all contributing to your comfort. The material offers four-way stretch capability, which along with the gusseted crotch moves with you as you negotiate a tricky fifth class move or aggressive telemark turns. Furthermore, the durable outer face provides a significant wind and water barrier, while the fuzzy inside surface offers just enough insulation to keep you comfortable when you start out in the morning. The Polartec Power Shield lightweight's breathability is excellent too, allowing moisture vapor to easily pass to the outside. To reinforce the Arc'teryx Gamma MX pant's durability, both pant legs feature Schoeller Dynamic instep patches as a safeguard against misguided crampon points, ski edges, and heavy hiking boot soles. The waist area includes a snap closure and waist belt, good features for a secure fit. The Arc'teryx Gamma MX men's pant also has a two-way fly, two hand pockets, and two high volume thigh pockets, great for everything from a pocketknife to an energy bar.

Good althletic fit, warm softshell pant. |
Great Pants. These fit great and I love the fact they make them in a tall size for lanky folks. I've worn these twice snowshoeing in around 0 degree F temps with only a light base layer under and they worked beautifully. The reason I chose these pants, other than the fact very few manufactuerers make tall soft shell pants, is the durability. I have an older pair of Gamma AR pants and I've abused them countless times and they've held up amazingly. Great quality pants.
