Product Descriptions
REI Description: The backcountry is yours in the Atlas Aspect 24 snowshoes-streamlined design offers a lightweight, packable size that confidently grants traction on mountainous terrain. Durable frames are crafted from sturdy aluminum to create a stiff yet lightweight chassis. Nose and tail shapes are optimized to provide a balanced platform for stable footing and to facilitate an easy, natural stride. Spring-Loaded(TM) Suspension (SLS) uses offset webbing straps to create a springy platform beneath your feet that absorbs impact and allows natural side-to-side foot flex. Heel-lift bar provides relief for tired calf muscles on steep ascents and match slope angle for improved traction. Robust nylon decks are integrated inside frames in a unique, seamless design that maximizes surface area while resisting abrasion. Designed for backcountry adventuring, PackFlat(TM) bindings feature quick-lashing straps and accommodate large snowboard and mountaineering boots. Included Backcountry Utility strap can be used to secure your snowshoes to your pack, lash gear together or serve as an emergency replacement strap in your PackFlat bindings. Aggressive saw-toothed perimeter and stainless-steel toe crampons deliver high-end traction; shovel-shaped prongs with sharp ice tips bite well into frozen slopes. Atlas Aspect 24 snowshoes' recommended load specification includes weight of hiker with gear.

Eastern Mountain Sports Description: Venture into the backcountry in complete confidence with the Atlas Aspect snowshoes. The Aspect combines the front flex of a tubular frame with the perimeter Aft Traction of a steel T-frame. Elliptical front frame with flexing allows deeper crampon penetration. ReactiV-Trac serrated frame uses T-shaped extrusion to protect the deck while allowing maximum traction. Vertical traction brace behind the heel sinks deeply into snow to provide maximum uphill and downhill traction. Infinity decking integrates with the frame to prevent abrasion while providing maximum flotation. Spring-Loaded Suspension keeps the snowshoe close underfoot for easy maneuvering and suspends your foot so it can move freely with its intended articulation. PackFlat bindings allow you to easily stow your snowshoes for the descent or once you reach solid ground. PackFlat binding is compatible with bulky snowboard and mountaineering boots. Stainless steel Holey-i-Toe crampon for durability and grip. Included BC utility strap can be used to secure your snowshoes to your pack or to one another. BC utility strap can also be used as a replacement strap in the backcountry.

Backcountry Description: Put miles of snow behind you as you trek in the Atlas Aspect Snowshoe. This backcountry trailblazer boasts Atlas' proprietary Spring-Loaded Suspension, which uses offset webbing straps for natural side-to-side motion. Don't worry if you don't have snowshoe-specific boots; PackFlat bindings offer the convenience of quick-adjust straps that accommodate snowboard kicks or even mountaineering boots.

   Retailer Reviews

I wanted to love these snowshoes! When I received the first pair I noticed the sound of a rolling metal object - most likely a rivet, used in construction - in the front tube of one of the shoes. I decided that I simply could not deal with that sound for the next twenty years of ownership. So, I promptly returned them and ordered a second pair. The second pair did not even come out of the shipping box, as one of the snowshoes had the same problem. All I had to do is tilt the box back and forth to hear that same annoying sound - back they went. I subsequently ordered a pair of Tubbs and they were perfect!Cuddos to Backcountry for their effortless return policy. I just logged in, printed a return label, and when UPS scanned it, backcountry made the credit card refund.
