HucknRoll Description: Avid made the Code 5 Hydraulic Brake for all mountain riders and light free-riders who want a tough disc brake with gobs of stopping power without maxing out all nine of their credit cards. The Code 5 gives you the powerful Code freeride brake caliper with time-tested Juicy-style levers for lighter weight and a lighter smack-down from your accountant.
JensonUSA Description: Code's 4 piston design offers massive braking power for freeride and downhill bikes.
HucknRoll Description: The Avid Code Disc Brakes lets you stop your downhill rig faster so you can feel confident riding faster. These powerful brakes have a sensitive side too: sealed bearings in the lever pivot gives you fantastic feel, and the ability to adjust exactly where your fingers are when the brake pads grip allows for predictable brake performance.

Feel the POWER |
There are a lot of people/reviewers out there that have claimed the Code brakes have too much power and little to no modulation. I however feel like those reviewers aren't going fast enough!! The brakes are extremely powerful 4 caliper brakes, it is because their intended use is for DH/FR, where the idea is to bomb down the hill and launch off of stuff...I love the power these brakes provide and feel that the modulation, while will never be as nice as elixirs/juicy's or similar brakesets, is pretty good for the power you are getting. The peace of mind knowing that I can truely commit to 1 finger braking and still pin it is worth its weight in gold. Bottom line, they are the best brakes I have ridden and highly recommend them!
