DogFunk Description: You've never been with a GORE-TEX Soft Shell like this before. The AK 3L Continuum Softshell Jacket takes the shell standard to a new level with Gore-Seam tiny tape sealing off 3-layer construction, RiRi AQUAzips, and a jacket-to-pant interface. Lock this shell into any Burton [ak] series pant using the Link Zip interface to create a force field against deep powder. Using Gore-Seam Tiny Tape minimizes construction materials and in turn, weight, while still providing guaranteed protection against the elements. An articulated fit makes for comfortable movement over any part of the mountain and you can dump any excess heat through the underarm vents any time your game gets too hot.

Finally realized that you get what you pay for once I got this shell. Very simple design, not a lot of stuff on it that you don't need... 3L Gore-Tex soft shell fabric and RiRi zips are burly and can withstand some serious abuse in and out of bounds. Overall design and attention to detail is very apparent when you put it on.My comments:1. The Pit-Zips - Wide open to the inside and do not have mesh lining, so when you are knee deep coming down, or if there is anything falling from the sky - you might want to close them up for the ride. 2. The Hood - (on a large) It's not 100% helmet compatible. I have a Smith Hustle (in large) and cannot zip up all the way up with the hood over it. It would suffice though if you were riding up the chair in some rain or sleet and just wanted the overhead protection while not in motion. No loss to me since riding down with your hood up has only done two things for me Decrease upper body mobility and creating a wind sail for my head.3. Pockets - Probably could use one more, but it's nice not being a pack rat on the mountain. Overall very versatile shell. I am 6'1 210lbs and the large fits perfect, enough room to layer up on a 10 degree(f) day and not feel like Randy Parker on his way to school, and super comfortable and cool on 30+ degree(f) spring days... 3L Gore-Tex soft shell is bomb proof, and Burton's Sig Fit is my new religion.
