Eastern Mountain Sports Description: The Shield is the strongest and, probably, safest wiregate biner from DMM. The good size, ergonomic shape, and low weight make this a great biner. Features the patented wirelock clean nose that stops the biner from being snagged when clipping or unclipping. Clean nose design: no notch on the nose that can snag on bolts or wires and allow the biner to be loaded away from the spine. I Beam technology to keep the weight down. Wire gate keeps weight to a minimum, while providing an easy clip with minimum chance of freezing or gunging up. 10 kN open gate strength. Rope bearing surface width: 9.4 mm.
