Product Descriptions
RockCreek Description: The Canyoneer 2 Water Shoe by Five Ten is a shoe that has been designed by the top canyoneers in the world. Canyoneering is a risky "sport" that involves the risks of water (rivers) and rock travel where you are rappelling and walking down slabs of water. The Canyoneer 2 offers incredibly sticky traction, a sleek design that isn't bulky or heavy and an adjustable closure system that allows the shoes to stay on even in fast moving water. The upper gives super lightweight support with an ergonomic flex and reinforced durability. The Canyoneer 2 is the result of a half decade of R&D with the world's top canyoneers so you know its the only shoe to wear.

Backcountry Description: The Five Ten Men's Canyoneer Shoes' all-synthetic construction, quick-draining design, and ultra-sticky soles make them a top choice for canyoneering and other technical water sports. A combination of neoprene, synthetic leather, and mesh help these Five Ten shoes battle water when you have to wade through a slot canyon. Stealth Amphibia soles provide the Canyoneer Shoes with the traction you need to send the 5.5 pitch and get back to ground level. Though Five Ten made these shoes for technical canyoneering, they have also found a solid following with rafters and kayakers.

Great shoe, just not for me

This shoe looked very sturdy and well made. Great sole and I liked the materials used on the upper. Plus it just looks cool. However, I am a girl, and this is definitely a man's shoe. Even with a thick sock, the shoe was impossibly wide for me. Also, I was unable to tighten the top of the shoe securely enough around my ankle to prevent my foot from flopping around. Overall, way to big for a female foot/leg. Because there are apparently no water- canyoneering shoes in women's sizes, at least not that I could find, I ended up going with the men's Keen gorge boot. Still pretty wide in the toe box, but at least I am able to tighten the top enough that I think it'll work. Haven't had a chance to backpack with them yet, but am looking forward to trying!
