Poor outsole design, otherwise great shoe.
These were my first pair of Hoka One One shoes and at first I was quite skeptical of my stability while trail running with them. Because I only trail run, I rotated these shoes with my trusty Brooks Cascadias for awhile. Once I changed out the insole for the provided thin insole, I felt much more comfortable in the Hoka's and begin to only run in them.I enjoyed running in these shoes while the sole lasted. At around 100 miles, I had to glue the outsole back to the foam on the left shoe and now at 300 miles there are not enough lugs left to provide traction on ascents/descents.I mainly run 10-30 miles at a time and quite enjoyed the protection that these shoes provided on rocky trails, I just wish they were more durable.
