REI Description: The Ibex Duo bike shorts are named for their elegant blend of fine merino wool, nylon and spandex. They regulate temperature, resist odors and provide itch-free comfort-naturally! Bikewear-exclusive fabric is made from New Zealand merino wool, a small amount of nylon for extra strength, and Lycra(R) spandex for a snug fit that moves with you. Wool provides excellent temperature regulation, especially for stop-and-go sports such as cycling; fabric blend is midweight, soft, durable, breathable and machine washable. Polyester/spandex panels on seat and inner thighs maximize durability, minimize friction and lend welcome support. 8-panel construction conforms to body for a natural feel and supports hard-working muscles; rear yoke panel enhances flexibility and comfort. Road bumps are absorbed by 8mm of molded, 4-way-stretch, foam padding; pad absorbs excess sweat, dries quickly and is odor resistant. Gripping elastic leg hems and smooth elastic waistband secure fit; flat-stitched seams reduce chafing and discomfort. Ibex Duo shorts are form-fitting.
