Loved style but not the shedding |
I was so excited to finally find an elegant and flattering down jacket. The charcoal grey wool is gorgeous--smooth but with subtle texture. It fits well and the body cut is slimming (with the exception of the upper arms--those areas are a little overly puffy). I used it for a week in Park City, UT, where temperatures were in the low teens and it kept me warm with a base layer and sweater underneath. Sadly, I had to return the jacket because the down pokes through the wool. I was hoping the shedding would stop but those pesky feathers would end up all over my clothes. The jacket was losing down at an inappropriately fast way, perhaps the wool needed to be a tighter weave.This is Ibex's first down jacket, so hopefully they'll improve this problem in the future! If they do, I would happily buy again.
