I was a little worried about not getting the Recon of the same shape but stiffer flex but the Raider definately held it's own. This is my 4th pair of K2s over the years and they were comfortable from the first run. Came off a pair of Salomons and glad to be back. Factory tune could be a little sharper out of the box so perhaps a 1 or even a 2 degree touch up under the foot will be in order to get that extra hold. But, even at 5'9, 170, I felt the 177s skied just great.
