Product Descriptions
Backcountry Description: The air is so cold that you are actually worried about your eyes freezing shut, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t still going skiing. You will just zip-up in the Women’s Igneo Insulated Jacket from Outdoor Research and forget about the cold so you can focus on your form. Even if the cold teams up with hard-blowing snow, your skis are not coming off of your feet. Unless the clouds start snowing bullets or rabid dogs, you really aren’t that worried about the weather.

SummitHut Description: When easy-access snow just wont satisfy, head out in the Outdoor Research Women's Igneo Jacket to carve fresh tracks on nearby untouched sidecountry. On the coldest days with fresh inches dropping by the hour, fully seam taped, waterproof Pertex Shield keeps the wet out. And when temperatures drop, EnduraLoft insulation provides extra warmth. The Women's Igneo also comes equipped with a zip-out powder skirt to keep the freshies from getting inside and wetting out base layers. Pit zips and breathable fabric allow hard earned body heat to escape on the hike up to make another run.

The House Description: With moderate insulation and adjustable ventilation, the Outdoor Research Igneo Ski Jacket's relaxed cut offers freedom of movement and protection in deep snow.Key Features of the Outdoor Research Igneo Ski Jacket: Waterproof/breathable, 2-layer 70D Pertex Shield fabric; reversed brushed tricot lining EnduraLoft insulation: 40g seat and knees Integrated RECCO reflector Fully seam taped Snap and zipper fly; belt loops Inner thigh vents Zippered hand pockets, one with beacon pocket with key-clip attachment Two hook/loop back flap pockets Gusseted crotch Articulated knees Internal mesh gaiters with gripper elastic Reinforced ankle scuff guards

Altrec Description: Set the slopes on fire in your Women's Outdoor Research Igneo Jacket. Designed to burn it up both inbounds and in the sidecountry this moderately insulated jacket has features aplenty. The insulation is mapped, with more in areas likely to get cold, and less in areas of protection or high perspiration. Fully seam sealed and waterproof and breathable, you get a zip off helmet compatible hood, elastic cuffs with hook and loop tabs, and a removable powder skirt, all aiming to keep you warm and comfortable. The relaxed fit lets you slide layers underneath, while the articulated elbows help the jacket flow with you, there are also pit zips if you start to overheat. The integrated RECCO(R) reflector is always on, and aids rescuers if you become lost or incapacitated, but you should be able to self extricate with all the supplies you'll be able to carry in the endless pockets. Be prepared for anything, in your Igneo Jacket for women from Outdoor Research.

The Only Ski Jacket I Brought

Just spent a month in South America and this is the only jacket I brought with me---it was great for warmer days, when I would just wear one layer underneath (breathable) and on cold, pow days, I threw another layer under it for the ideal amount of warmth. I am about 5'8 with a regular sized torso and I think this jacket fits really well. It is not too short and with the powder skirt ensures that you won't get snow up your jacket when storm riding.

Thanks back country. Ordered the Igneo jacket in the large size only to have to return it and re order the medium size (My measurements were between the medium and the large size). The medium is a perfect size, so if in doubt err to the smaller size. The colour was not as violet as the picture illustrated but certainly a dark purple.I'm looking forward to skiing in the Australian alpine in a few weeks and having it for years to come for ski trips to the northern hemisphere.
