As axles get bigger, so do the cones that go around them. The 28mm is a have-to-have if you're running a Saint front hub, or some other Shimano hub for 20mm axles.My Saint front hub used to have a chronic loosening issue. Once I invested in the right tool to fix it(which more than one bike shop I went to neglected to have), I've only had to use it twice. The second time because I made it too tight first time around. But that's why I buy a tool...in hopes of needing it less. This wrench even makes my small travel tool kit and goes on every trip my dh rig does.Bottom line: Necessity
