This thing rocks
This is the first PFD I've purchased since high school, despite the fact I work as a river biologist and log many hours on (read in) the water. Put aside the fact that I am a penny pusher, this jacket was well worth the cash. I finally got fed up with my old PFD and decided to upgrade to a Type III. This thing is awesome. The fit is great and highly adjustable. It also does NOT ride up, which is amazing. The zippered pocket is great for keys, lip balm, sunscreen stick, buff, and other small odds and ends you like to have nearby on the river. The mesh pocket is my favorite, though, because it holds a can of beer perfectly! One thing I will look out for, though - the shoulder straps are stretchy, which is great for comfort, but seemed weak when I had to be lifted back into a raft after bailing in the Grand Canyon. Overall, this is a great whitewater PFD, and I am looking forward to using it on the Colorado, Green, and Yampa this summer for field work.
