Backcountry Description: Whether you're heading for Wasatch depths or Alps gnar, the waterproof breathable Stoic Bombshell Bib wields comfort and fit like Nature wields her elements. Fully-welded construction paired with mechanical stretch fabric creates a dynamic storm fortress that won't inhibit movement, and the removable softshell bib offers options for changing conditions. Lock down the zippered gaiters when the day looks deep, and bust open the mesh-backed inner-thigh vents when it's time to hike that line for one more ride. The Bombshell Bib's Keprotech-reinforcements stand up to ski edges, crampons, and rock out cropping, and the bib suspenders adjust for deep or shallow days and the waist tabs offer another line of customization. These bibs love everything from hiking to riding the lifts, so Stoic's 3-D ergonomic fit creates plenty of moving room for boot packing and skinning, without weighing you down in fabric.

Product reviews from Backcountry:
Awesome pants, with a few fit caveats |
Ok, overall these are very cool bibs - we actually have two pairs of them, one for me, one for my wife.Fit:I'm 5'9, 185 lbs and I wear the larges. I can fit in the mediums, but with my 34 waist there isn't room around the midsection for anything underneath. I can wear normal pants pretty comfortable under my larges. We both wish the bottoms weren't quite so flared. In a perfect world I'd like a bit looser fit around the middle and bibs, and a bit snugger fit (or less bell-bottomy) around the bottom. When wearing separate gaiters for snowshoeing there is a lot of material down there to tuck in. Suspenders:Talking about the suspender straps here. I like the absence of clips, but the range of adjustment is pretty small. On both of our sets (we are both 5'9) we need (want) to be able to make the bib straps shorter than they are set up for. The soft Velcro strip should be longer. You can fasten the Velcro beyond where the strip is, but isn't the greatest for the elastic material and it becomes a chore to undo (and will pile the material). Since we plan to keep these for a long time we'll either end up shortening the straps, or sewing addition Velcro on them. This will be pretty easy to fix, but would have been easy to do at the factory too I'd guess.Material:Anyway, the material of the shell is awesome. These are the nicest bibs I've ever had. Used for snowshoeing, shoveling snow, playing outside with kids and probably some skiing too when we have time. I really dig the orange, my wife has black ones which look sharp with the neon green zipper accents. There is a durable patch of material at the bottom (to keep your ski boots from rubbing through), just with there was less material down there. Maybe good for skiing/snowboarding if you have big boots, but too much for other use imho. The lycra-ish bib material is a little flimsier (smaller zippers, etc) so we'll have to see how that holds up.But overall these are pretty cool pants. And a screaming bargain at the Steep-and-Cheap or sale price. Probably even a decent deal at full price.

Sizing guide way off |
Bibs are great, sizing guide is WAY off. i have a 32 in waist and i could barely fit into the mediums. There is no way I could have any insulating layers on too. Make sure you order a size up. If you follow the sizing guide you will be sorry.with that out of the way, the only complaint I have is they couldn't make one color that wouldn't be out of style in two years. These bibs are going to last a long time. Long enough that I am going to get sick of the bright lime green zippers. Construction is top notch, material is burley but light enough that it won't weigh you down on the skin track.
