Breath!

My review is based on the difference between the mid raiths and my old pair of mid ll beans. While the old LLs were waterproof, they were full leather and didn't breath. These raiths breath like a pair of lungs. I have hot feet and can normally hike in 3 season boots in the winter, which also mean they sweat profusely. I hiked two high peaks in the ADK in the spring in these. Adk mud, ice and snow, and my feet were dry as a bone. They breath great and are completely waterproof. I have a pair of mountaineering boots with eVent and breath the same way. After reviewing the comments on the some keens and the merrel moabs, I went with these because they seemed to offer more support on the sole. Other boots soles seemed to soft for me and might not be as comfortable on longer hikes.Looking forward to trying these out on a 28 mile hike coming up. Hopefully, my review will stay the same and I'll continue to love these!update: I would have to give these shoes a 4 to 4.5 star rating. They are still fantastic breathable waterproof boots, but the stock soles are not comfortable for me and even though i didn't have any hot spots, my feet got sore after a 8 mile hike. I bought some 'sole' insoles and went on a 25 mile hike and my feet didn't ache one bit. In addition, some of the outer shell fibers is shedding off after some rock climbs, not affecting the eVent lining, but still something to consider. They are still the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, comfort being they keep my feet extremely dry, they breath and now with the new soles I can hike forever.
