Backcountry Description: Water and river debris can't wait to get into your shoe, saturate the fabric, and lodge between your toes. Both are truly disappointed by the Teva Women's Sunkosi 2 Water Shoe. Midsole drainage ports with mesh screens block debris and push water out while the mesh upper dries quickly when you step into the sun. The quick-pull laces, 360-degree strapping system, and welded TPU structure increase instep and arch support and provide a secure fit while you walk over slimy river rocks.

Backcountry Description: The Teva Women's Sunkosi Shoes let you run through streams or run the Green without retaining water-in your shoes that is. The patent-pending drain technology lets water escape and air flow in freely. These amphibious shoes feature quick-drying uppers secured to high-friction Spider Rubber outsoles using Teva's patented Wraptor Fit System. Wraptor wraps completely around the foot through a unique channel in the midsole and gives your feet umatched support and stability. A series of drainage ports with mesh screens inside the Sunkosi Shoes let water escape through the bottom of the shoe while making sure debris stays out. The EVA midsole provides cushioning and shock absorption, and a durable pull-cord lets you make lightning fast fit-adjustments on the trail.

My day job is to clean pools and my feet are constantly getting wet. After doing a lot of research online for the perfect shoe, I thought these would be the ones. Really, they are close enough. I didn't expect to wear socks with these shoes since that would defeat the purpose of a quick drying system. However, the first day of wearing them totally cut up the back of my ankles (Achilles heal area). So for a few days I wore layers of band-aids, then had to go to socks. Wore the socks for about a week or so to break the shoes in the rest of the way, and now I'm back to sockless.. They have to be on lose so they don't rub your ankles or toes after breaking them in.. I found that the arch support was actually sharp and gave my foot another raw spot there. I was about to give up on these shoes, but the fact is that they just have to be broken in before the excursion. Wear them around the house or around town first with socks before you take them on a trip, or you'll be sorry you didn't. Unless it's just my feet, who knows. One other thing though.. When I would walk through a puddle or a saturated yard from rain, the water goes up through the bottom of the shoe.. it doesn't just push the water out. Keep this in mind if you are wearing socks because it will make for some stinkin hooves.

Love them! |
Both my husband and I recently bought pairs of Sunkosi's. We wore them on a trip where we went through lots of water and mud. They were perfect! my feet never felt heavy because the water flowed right through them. Tread is thick so never felt slippery - even on wet, slick rocks. They took a couple days to dry out on their own after, but were great over all. Great as a light, airy shoe for dry conditions too. Wish I'd gotten them years ago!
