Day Hiking Bag |
I use this bag for day hiking. I am 61. It fits snug and still adjustable with waistband. I bought a 1.5 gallon Camelbak reservoir and used the built-in holes and straps for the reservoir and hose. I can easily access the front pocket which is huge with two zippers. I put my Canon 40D and lens in the front pocket. The camelbak acts as a shock absorber for the camera against my back. I can easily access the deeper cargo area where camelback is located where I store anything like lunch to extra layers of clothing and tools. I carried the hiking poles on the outer tool strap and again I can tighten the bag with side straps. This bag is just right size for a day hike and has room for 1.5 gallons of water, lunch, snacks, a 40D, two jackets and two shirts and two shorts. and two socks.

Perfect for the Gym |
So far, I love this bag. For awhile, I was searching for something simple to hold my rope, harness, shoes, chalk bag, and water for my commutes to and from the gym. I ride my bike there and bag, so some kind of a duffel wasn't an option. I wound up with this bag and have been really pleased so far. I takes all the above stuff, plus plenty of smaller items, like a wallet, clif bar, and water bottle. It fits quite comfortably, and I'm totally happy wearing on my bike ride to the gym.Some of the cool things about it, off the top of my head:- Great fabric -- it's the strong stuff that they use in my Timbuk2 messenger bag.- Cool design -- it's very thoughtful how the zippers and everything are put together... clever.Only downside i can think of is the price -- it ain't cheap. That said, I bought another smaller, cheaper Black Diamond bag before this one, and had to return it as it wasn't large enough.

Nicely designed rock climbing pack. The front pocket doesn't look big enough for a rope that it is designed for, but my 10 mm has no problem fitting in there. Super burly pack material, and I really like the way this packs opens up - it is a top loader, but is opens toward you instead of away like traditional top loaders. Very comfortable suspension, and seems tough enough to handle be hauled up a pitch or two...
