Tesla Roadster the Next Generation Sports Car...

This is the greatest car ever. Can you imagine to ride all day with the pleasure of Porsche GT3, and to pay about $10 for this. It is just amazing!!!...

Patrick Byrne, CEO of Overstock.com, just ordered and received the first Tesla Roadster shipped to Utah. Sweet! http://www.deseretnews.com/article/705332706/Byrne-takes-delight-in-speedy-Tesla-car.html

Maybe if a few more folks in Utah pick up a Tesla car, they'll consider putting a Tesla dealership here before the Model S comes out in 2011: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/26/tesla-model-s-50-000-ev-sedan-seats-seven-300-mile-range-0-6/

very interesting read -- I hadn't seen that. Yep, I suppose the most green thing you could do is reduce production waste. Heck, the best way to do that is just not put out anymore demand for new cars! I know a guy who drives an old Altima stick shift because it gets killer gas mileage and the waste from its production has long since been gone into the environment. Rather than buy a new Prius, it's better on the environment to just keep rolling in his Altima even though the mpg isn't quite that of a hybrid.

Very cool that it runs on battery power alone, but that shouldn't be the only consideration when buying a "green" vehicle. You all know I'm a Subaru guy and while they don't have any hybrids, they are continuing to up the ante in MPG's with their full lineup of AWD vehicles. They are all reasonably-priced and get pretty good gas mileage (the 2010 Subaru Legacy and Outback CVT models get in the high 20's).

Add on top of that their Indiana production facility is a ZERO LANDFILL manufacturing plant and can boast a myriad of other noteworthy envionrmentally-friendly achievements, there's no question which mainstream car manufacturer has the least impact on the environment when you consider everything (cost of ownership, dependence upon foreign oil, landfill, etc.). You can read up here:
